Might be the best fish and chips I’ve tried. Large portion, prepared to order, full of flavour. Crispy chips and batter, real, fresh fish. Friendly service. A great experience overall.

Hadn't been to Skippers for years but so glad we gave it another try! These guys have really cleaned the place up and are super friendly. The service was great, the chap behind the counter overheard me talking to another customer and saying it was my son's birthday and he wanted to go to Skippers as he loves fish, so he gave my son a free bottle of coke! He also gave us some home made tartare sauce to try, which was amazing! The fish was delicious (we all had haddock) and the chips were also very tasty and huge portions, one large portion was too much for 4 of us.

Who needs to go to Cornwall for fish and chips when you have Skippers! 😂 So far the best in U.K. for me. Always so fresh and they use really clean fresh oil unlike some other places. Top quality every single time as they take pride in their food.

They opened dead on 12noon just like their Google hours stated I expected to wait but my saveloy and chips were ready immediately. In and out in under a minute. I can't remember the last time I didn't have to hang around at a chippy waiting for chips to cook.

This may have been the best meal we had on our two-week honeymoon in the UK, and we ate at some of London and Edinburgh’s most acclaimed restaurants, including The Golden Chippy which was once rated London’s best chip shop. This blew it out of the water. We were driving through the area and wanted to try this place based on it sharing our family name. The Hills that run Skipper’s were incredibly friendly folks who helped us Americans get our bearings. We’re from the Southern United States and the fried chicken here was better than many places back home. Our favorite overall was the fried cod. Thanks for a great memory!
